Recruitment: CBI arrests CRPF official

New Delhi, May 13 (IBNS) The Central Bureau of Investigation on Friday registered a case against a Deputy Commandant, 133 Bn., CRPF, Dhurwa, Ranchi (Jharkhand) and unknown others for alleged illegal involvement in the recruitment process in CRPF.

 It was alleged in the complaint that the officer had approached Medical Officers of the Recruitment Board to declare medically unfit candidates as fit in lieu of illegal gratification.

"It was further alleged that the officer has also requested the Medical Officers of the Medical Board to intimate Bank particulars by opening a new bank account, so that the alleged bribe can be deposited in the new bank accounts," read a CBI statement.

Searches were carried out at the residential premises of the Dy. Commandant and also at the premises of her husband (a doctor) at Kolkata, which led to recovery of incriminating documents.

Further investigation is continuing.
