Rape complainant was allegedly set on fire in Ludhiana

Ludhiana, Dec 5 (IBNS): A rape complainant was allegedly set on fire by six people in Dhandari Khurd area of Ludhiana on Thursday, media reports said.

Police said the 17-year-old girl who was rushed to a hospital is critical.

Ludhiana Police Commissioner Pramod Ban said two people have already been arrested in connection with the case while others are still at large. The search operation is on.

The girl had lodged a rape complaint against three of them two months ago and according they were arrested.  The trio was released on bail last week.

Reports said six people, including the three rape accused, reached the girl’s residence and allegedly set her on fire after pouring kerosene on her.

The accused are all from Bihar. Two of them, identified as Sahjad and Anwar, have been arrested.
