Ramdev's gold soap has my cow milk : Lalu Yadav endorses yoga guru's product

New Delhi, May 4 (IBNS) Baba Ramdev on Wednesday found an unlikely ambassador for his brands in former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Yadav, who made a unique endorsement by saying Patanjali's gold cream "has my cow milk" after having a beauty makeover from the Yoga guru.

Perhaps making him more happy, the maverick politician  also described as a "conspiracy" the reports of powdered bone in products sold by Ramdev's brand.

The amusing, yet significant event took place during a yoga session of Ramdev in Delhi, held at the invitation of Lalu Yadav.

So far, the yoga guru, whose Patanjali health care products have been a super hit in commercial market, was not known to have enjoyed an open support from any big time politician, other than those belonging to the BJP or the Sangh Parivar.

Ramdev's products, claimed to be containing ayurvedic and pure desi ingredients, have often come under criticism from  several politicians of opposition parties allegedly for having ingredients not conforming to the ayurvedic ways.

But Lalu Yadav, declared : "In normal soaps, there is excess soda, but not Ramdev's soap. It will keep the skin healthy."

Ramdev then decided to go for an on-the-spot demo,  rubbing gold cream on Yadav's forehead.

"It will add beauty to your face. We make Ayurvedic products, foreign companies use chemicals," said the yoga guru, proceeding to feed the 67-year-old politician an energy bar.

The development was in contrast to what Lalu Yadav had mockingly said last year : "Ramdev said he will do yogasan in Ramlila Maidan.  When the police came, he did kudasan" - a reference to the yoga teacher jumping off a stage when the police cracked down on his protest in 2011.

He also castigated Ramdev on his "silence" on what he called the BJP government's empty promises on bringing back black money.

Ramdev claimes that Patanjali Ayurved will soon upstage giants like Colgate, Unilever and Nestle.
