Jaipur/IBNS: As many as six Rajasthan state examinations to select candidates for various government jobs have now come under the scanner as an investigation into REET (Rajasthan Eligibility Exam for Teachers) on Saturday revealed that the question papers were leaked three days before reaching the strong room, media reports said.

Apart from REET, the competitive examinations that have come under scrutiny include Rajasthan JEN Exam, the Rajashtan Patwari exam, Rajasthan's Librarian Exam, Rajasthan's Pharmacist Examination, Rajasthan Second Grade Teacher Exam.

Following the paper leak, the government cancelled the Rajasthan Second Grade Teacher Exam 2022 which was to be held on Saturday.

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that the exams were called off to safeguard the interests of the candidates appearing in the examination and assured the strictest punishment for those involved in leaking the test paper.

A state official told news agency ANI that the authorities decided to cancel the exams after a box bearing an examination centre code was found while the same code was not present on the test papers inside the box, inferring that the papers had been leaked.

According to reports, the General Knowledge paper of the exam was leaked and even circulated on social media before the commencement of the examination, prompting the authorities to cancel the exam.

Meanwhile, candidates took to the streets the exam was cancelled.

No less than 44 people, including 37 students and seven experts have been arrested in Udaipur in connection with the paper leak, said an India Today report.
