Rajasthan: 27 killed, eight injured in two road mishaps

Jaipur/IBNS: At least 27 persons were killed and eight others were seriously injured in two different road accidents in Rajasthan's Bundi and Bikaner on Wednesday, reports said.

According to reports, a private bus carrying a wedding party plunged into Mej river from a bridge on Kota-Dausa highway in Bundi district of Rajasthan in the morning, leaving 24 passengers, including 11 women and three children, dead and five others critically hurt.

Following the accident, the Rajasthan government announced a compensation of Rs. 2 lakh each to the next kin of the deceased.

Meanwhile, three persons were killed and three others were hurt in another road mishap that took place near Pugal Phanta area on Bikaner-Jaisalmer road.
