New Delhi, Nov 30 (IBNS): Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi's Twitter handle was hacked on Wednesday evening and some abusive tweets were posted from the account.

Almost eight such tweets were spotted out of which one reportedly read: "My family is a bunch of corrupt....(expletives) retarded... (expletives)."

The hackers have also removed Rahul Gandhi's profile picture.

According to reports, the title of the account '@OfficeOfRG' was also changed to an abusive one.

The abusive tweets were deleted in about an hour.

Reacting to the incident, Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala tweeted: "Such unscrupulous, unethical&roguish conduct of venal trolls 2hack @OfficeOfRG reflects disturbing insecurities of prevalent fascist culture."

"Pre-meditated hacking of @OfficeOfRG smacks of a sinister conspiracy to abuse & intimidate. It strengthens our resolve to fight for the Nation," Singh posted.

He also save that the hacking puts serious concerns on digital safety.

"Hacking of@OfficeofRG proves lack of Digital safety around each one of us. Every digital info can be accessed, altered, morphed & modified," Surjewala wrote.
