Rahul Gandhi wishes Mamata Banerjee after the latter takes oath as West Bengal's CM

New Delhi, May 27 (IBNS) Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Friday, greeted Mamata Banerjee after the latter took oath as West Bengal's Chief Minister for the second term.

"Congratulations to @MamataOfficial ji on being sworn in as Chief Minister. My best wishes to her & the Cabinet for the term ahead," Gandhi tweeted.

Banerjee, who became the first women CM of West Bengal by winning the previous Assembly election, recorded another history in the recent elections as her party won 211 out of the 294 seats in the state assembly polls, thus clinching the biggest mandate for a single party in the state.

The Congress, who aligned with the Left in the recently concluded state polls, managed 75 seats.

Post her recent win, Banerjee also took a dig at the Congress, who in 2011 had aligned with the TMC, when the party formed the state government for the very first time, bringing in an end to Left rule, who stayed in power for 34 years.
