Rahul Gandhi to begin two-day Chhattisgarh trip today

Raipur, Nov 9 (IBNS): Congress president Rahul Gandhi will begin his two-day trip to poll-bound Chhattisgarh on Friday.

On the first day of his state-visit, the Congress president will address four rallies at Pakhanjore, Khairagarh, Dongargarh and Gunj Chowk.

The state elections will be held in two phases on Nov 12 and 20.

Out of total 90 constituencies, elections will be held in 18 seats on the first day of polling. Polling in rest 72 seats will be held on Nov 20.

The Congress is eyeing on to wrest power in the state, which is presently ruled by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) under Chief Minister Raman Singh.

The state polls are crucial for both the incumbent BJP and Congress ahead of the 2019 General Elections, which will be held in few months' time.
