Rahul Gandhi needs crutch after failure, says BJP on formal entry of Priyanka in politics
New Delhi, Jan 23 (IBNS): Highlighting the dynastic Gandhi family politics, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party tried to corner the Congress over the entry of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to active politics and said it reflected the failure of party president Rahul Gandhi.
The BJP attacked Congress over 'dynasty rule', referring to the leadership of the party being centred around current president Rahul Gandhi and his family.
BJP leader Sambit Patra said: "Dynasty is what Congress is all about. They consider family as the party while BJP considers party as the family."
"Congress has accepted that Rahul Gandhi Ji has failed," he said.
He said Rahul Gandhi needs a "baishakhi (crutch)" after his failure, referring to the entry of Priyanka.
Priyanka joins active politics:
Meanwhile, Congress supremo Rahul Gandhi said he hopes to see Priyanka Gandhi and Jyotiraditya Scindia heralding the dawn of a new kind of politics in the state.
"UP is central to building a new hope filled & compassionate India. The new UP AICC team lead by Priyanka & Jyotiraditya, will herald the dawn of a new kind of politics in the state. We will offer the youth in UP a dynamic new platform to transform the state," Gandhi tweeted.

Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday said his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and party leader Jyotiraditya Scindia have been appointed as the outfit's general secretary in Uttar Pradesh on a mission.
Reacting to the appointment of Priyanka and Scindia as the general secretary of east and west Uttar Pradesh respectively, Rahul said: "Priyanka and Jyotiraditya have been appointed on a mission to establish Congress' ideology in Uttar Pradesh. I am personally happy for Priyanka as now my capable sister will work with me."
"Whether Priyanka will contest election or not is her personal decision," the Congress chief said when asked whether her sister will contest the 2019 General Elections.
The announcement came days after the Congress was kept out of an alliance by the Samajwadi Party (SP) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in Uttar Pradesh.
However, Rahul kept his option open to ally with the two parties saying, "I have no enmity with Mayawati and Akhilesh Yadav. They have taken a decision. We are trying to reestablish our party in the state. We will cooperate with SP-BSP in future if there is a scope. Our common intention is to defeat BJP."
