Dhar, Apr 30 (IBNS): Congress President Rahul Gandhi has called the Bharaitya Janata Party (BJP) a  'caste-ist party' with reference to the news that several candidates, who appeared for the  medical test for the constable’s job in Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar area, were allegedly marked with ‘SC’, ‘ST’ and ‘OBC’ on their chests, according to media reports.

Controversy around the incident broke out on Sunday after photographs of this medical test procedurewent viral online.

Rahul Gandhi said that the incident was an assault on the constitution, media reported.

On Sunday, attacking the BJP government of Madhya Pradesh, the Congress had tweeted, "Sangh Brotherhood claims that casteism is dead. Their own Govt in MP practices it. And quite blatantly."

Birendra Kumar Singh, Dhar superintendent of police, said an inquiry has been initiated into the incident.

He was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times: "An inquiry has been initiated. Those found guilty will be punished ."
