New Delhi, Nov 30 (IBNS): Congress president Rahul Gandhi and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal were among several key opposition leaders who joined the Kisan Mukti March in the national capital on Friday.

Gandhi said farmers should not be feeling afraid as all opposition parties are with them.

"If the loans of industrialists can be waived off, then the debt of farmers must be waived off as well. I assure the farmers of India, we are with you, don't feel afraid," Gandhi was quoted as saying by the media as he spoke at the Jantar Mantar area.

The protesting farmers were earlier stopped by the police  near the Parliament Street Police station.

Targeting the Centre, Kejriwal: "Narendra Modiji please think a bit about the farmers of India and they will no more need to take the path of protest and demonstration."

The mega rally, which has been organised by the All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee (AIKSCC), began from Brijwasan and reached Ramlila grounds in Delhi on Thursday.

Protesting against the Centre's inability to address the farm crisis, the peasants are demanding special parliamentary session to discuss the agrarian distress.

Farmers also want a complete relief from the farm loans.

Peasants from Maharashtra, who had joined the Kisan march in the western state, also joined the protest march in Delhi.
