Rahul Gandhi attacks PM Modi in Chhattisgarh

| | Jun 16, 2015, at 09:28 pm
Raipur, June 16 (IBNS): Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said he has not fulfilled the promises he had made to the people of the country before the Lok Sabha polls.

He said Modi will not be seen visiting Chhattisgarh in the next five years.

"The elections and the promises made before it are over now. He (Narendra Modi) will not been seen in the next five years," Gandhi said while addressing a rally in Chhattisgarh.

The Congress vice-president said the poor people of the state will not get any employment opportunities but their land, forests and water will be taken away by the government.

"I am hopeful that the Congress will form the government here after the next elections," Gandhi said.

"It will be a government for the people of the state.  A government which will belong to the poor as well as the adivasis (tribal people) of the area. The development in the area will also include them," he said.

Attacking the PM, he said: "PM wants to start bullet trains for the 'suit-boot' people."

Gandhi on Tuesday participated in a padyatra (foot-march) for tribal people from Saradih village in Chhattisgarh's Janjgir-Champa district.

His march comes amid state government's attempt in building seven barrages on Mahanadi.

He also spoke  to farmers at Sardih vilage.
