Mumbai, Jan 11 (IBNS) : The shoot of Remo D’Souza’s Race 3 in Film City, Mumbai, was halted and actor Salman Khan was escorted home on Tuesday  after police informed that a group of armed men had entered the studio.

According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, a tabloid, the cops suspect it has a connection to the death threats Salman Khan recently received from Rajasthan’s gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.

A senior cop told the tabloid, “The police arrived at the Race 3 set in Film City and told Salman and producer Ramesh Taurani that the shoot had to be stopped immediately as the actor needed to go back to  home as soon as possible.

Salman was escorted  in another car by six policemen,  while his own vehicle  was driven back to his residence in Bandra by another group of cops.”

According to a Mumbai Mirror report, Salman’s appearance in Jodhpur last Thursday in the black buck case led to threats by gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.

The black buck case -- in which Salman is charged with poaching the endangered animal -- has been going on in Jodhpur for the past 10 years.

Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi of Rajasthan on Thursday issued a death threat to Salman Khan. “Salman Khan will be killed here, in Jodhpur... Then he will come to know about our real identity. Now, if police want me to do some major crime, I shall kill Salman Khan and that too in Jodhpur,” he told media on January 5.
