Chandigarh/UNI: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal joined the dharna being staged by contractual teachers outside the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) in Mohali on Saturday.

The protesting contractual teachers are demanding permanent jobs.

During his last two-day visit to Punjab, the AAP supremo gave eight guarantees for comprehensive education reforms in Punjab.

Kejriwal had promised to regularize the services of contractual teachers, implement transfer policy for them and also assured them cashless medical treatment facilities if the AAP comes to power in the state.

AAP Punjab unit President and MP Bhagwant Mann and Leader of Opposition in Vidhan Sabha, Harpal Singh Cheema, were also present on the occasion.
