Pulwama attack : All India trade body to observe shutdown in 18 states on Monday
New Delhi, Feb 16 (UNI) Confederation of All India Traders on Saturday announced that most of the states will observe Trade Bandh on February 18 to register their solidarity with nation following the mass killing of CRPF personnel by terrorists in Kashmir's Pulwama.
A release stated that the commercial markets will remain closed and there will be no business activity.
In Delhi all wholesale and retail markets will observe Trade Bandh on February 18.
However, some states including Karnataka, Gujarat, districts of Maharashtra, Kerala,Chattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh , Jharkhand and Eastern UP observed trade bandh on Saturday.
CAIT National President B C Bhartia and Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal informed that during Trade Bandh the traders will keep a day long fast and will take out tribute march and candle march in their respective states.
They also informed that CAIT is planning to organise substantial financial assistance which will be directly given by the Traders to the families of the martyrs'.
The trade leaders informed that on February 18, Trade Bandh would be observed in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, UP, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu,Punjab, Haryana, J&K.
In the national capital, prominent markets including Chandni Chowk, Khari Baoli, Kashmiri Gate, Chawri Bazar, Sadar Bazar, Connaught Place, Karol Bagh, Rajouri Garden, Kamla Nagar, South Extension, Lajpat Nagar, Laxmi Nagar, Preet Vihar, Shahdara, Gandhi Nagar will be closed.
