Puducherry: Two arrested for attempting to break ATM machine of Canara Bank

Puducherry/UNI: Police arrested two persons on charges of attempting to break the ATM machine of the Canara Bank here on Tuesday.

According to police, the Orleanpet police team led by Sub-Inspector Venkatachalapathy was returning to the station after the night beat and found two persons moving in a suspicious manner at Karamanikuppam in the early hours of today.


Police searched them and found iron bars. On interrogation, they confessed that they tried to break open the ATM machine of the Canara Bank in the area.

The two identified as Raja alias Ramachandran of Bhoomiyanpet and Sakthivel alias Dikky of Mudaliarpet were arrested.

They were produced before a local court which sent them to Judicial remand and are lodged in the Central prison.
