Puducherry: Robbery gang held

Puducherry,Jun 15 (UNI) Police arrested a five-member robbery gang at Ariyankuppam near here on Friday night.

According to police on Saturday, they were on a night patrolling when they intercepted a gang hiding in a bush at Ariyankuppam.

Police rounded them and on interrogation,it came to know that they were hatching a plan to rob industrialists coming that way to meet the expenses for the hearings of murder cases pending against them in courts here.

Following this, police arrested them and seized weapons, motorcycles, cell phones and chilly powder packets.

They were identified as Parthiban, Nithyakumar, Ashok, Satheesh and Manikandan.
