Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrives in Jordan

Amman, Feb 9 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday arrived in Jordan capital Amman as he commenced his four nation tour.

This is the first visit of an Indian PM in the country.

After arriving in the nation, PMO India tweeted: " Landed in Amman. I thank His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan for facilitating the transit: PM @narendramodi."

He will visit  Jordan, Palestine, UAE & Oman between Feb 9-12.

Modi earlier said this region is a key priority to India's external engagement.

"I am happy to visit the Gulf and West Asian region for the fifth time since 2015. This region is a key priority in our external engagement. We enjoy vibrant multi-dimensional ties with the countries here," Modi said.

Modi had recently visited the World Economic Forum in Davos.
