President wishes Kenya ahead of Madaraka Day

New Delhi, May 31 (IBNS) President of India Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday extended his greetings and felicitations to the Government and people of the Republic of Kenya on the eve of their Madaraka Day.

In a message to Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta, the President of the Republic of Kenya, the President  said, “On behalf of the Government, the people of India and on my own behalf, it gives me immense pleasure to extend my warm greetings and felicitations to Your Excellency, to the Government and the people of the Republic of Kenya on the occasion of your Madaraka Day."

"The long-standing friendly ties between India and Kenya have blossomed into a robust and multi-faceted partnership. Our bilateral engagement has been further strengthened in recent years by regular high-level visits, growing trade and commerce as well as extensive people-to-people contacts. Our countries also share common views on issues of regional and global interest and cooperate closely in regional and multi-lateral fora. I am confident that this relationship between our two countries will continue to expand and that our interaction and cooperation will scale new heights," he said.

"Excellency, I convey my best wishes for your good health, success and happiness, as well as for the continued progress and prosperity of the friendly people of the Republic of Kenya," Mukherjee said.
