Ranchi/UNI: President Ram Nath Kovind will participate as the chief guest in the first convocation ceremony of the Central University of Jharkhand on February 28 and hand out degrees to the students.

The ceremony will be organised at the university's new campus located at Cheri-Manatu.

During his two-day-visit to the state, beginning February 28, the President will attend a number of other programmes in Ranchi, Gumla and Deoghar.

On February 29, he will travel to Bishunpur in Gumla district, after which he will visit Deoghar.

Elaborate security arrangements will be made in all the three places where the President will attend programmes. The police headquarters will deploy senior IPS officials along with DSPs and Police inspectors to look after the security and other arrangements at the venue.

In September 2019, during his three-day-visit to the state, the President could not attend programmes in Gumla and Deoghar districts due to inclement weather. He could only participate in the convocation ceremony of Ranchi University before returning back to the national capital.
