President of India’s message on the eve of foundation day of Democratic People's Republic of Korea

New Delhi, Sep 8 (IBNS): President of India Pranab Mukherjee has extended his greetings and felicitations to the Government and people of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea on the eve of their Foundation Day (September 9, 2016).

In a message to Marshal Kim Jong Un, the First Secretary of Worker's Party of Korea, First Chairman of National Defence Commission and Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army, the Indian President has said, “On behalf of the Government and the people of India and on my own behalf, it is with great pleasure that I extend warm greetings and felicitations to you and to the people of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea on the occasion of your Foundation Day.

India’s relations with the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea have traditionally been marked by cordiality and friendship. I am happy to note that the Governments of both countries are working together to develop and diversify our ties for the mutual benefit of both our peoples. India would like to see peace and stability in the region, and to that end, hopes that all outstanding issues can be expeditiously resolved through dialogue.

Please accept, Excellency, my best wishes for your good health and well-being and for the continued progress and prosperity of the friendly people of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.”
