President of India’s message on Guyana's Republic Day

| | Feb 22, 2017, at 06:21 pm
New Delhi, Feb 22 (IBNS): President of India Pranab Mukherjee has extended his greetings and felicitations to the Government and people of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana on the eve of their Republic Day (February 23, 2017).

In a message to the President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, Brig. (Retd) David Arthur Granger,  the Indian President said, “On behalf of the Government and the people of India and on my own behalf, it gives me great pleasure to felicitate you on the occasion of the Republic Day of Guyana.

Relations between Indian and Guyana are based on the solid foundations of shared values and convergence of views.  The recent visits of Prime Minister Moses Nagamootoo to India and the meeting between the Hon’ble Foreign Minister of Guyana with Hon’ble Minister of State for External Affairs of India on the sidelines of UNGA in New York in September, 2016 have added further impetus to our bilateral ties.  I am confident that our cooperation will be further enhanced in the years to come.

I take this opportunity to convey to Your Excellency my best wishes for your well being and for the continued progress and prosperity of the friendly people of Guyana."
