President greets people of Trinidad and Tobago on eve of independence day

New Delhi, Sept 23 (IBNS) President Pranab Mukherjee has extended his greetings and felicitations to the Government and the people of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago on the eve of their Republic Day.

In his message to Trinidad and Tobago President Anthony Carmona, Mukherjee  has said, “On behalf of the Government and the people of India and on my own behalf, please accept warm greetings and felicitations to you and to the friendly people of Trinidad and Tobago on the occasion of your Republic Day."

"Relations between India and Trinidad and Tobago are traditionally warm and friendly. The history and culture shared by both our countries stand witness to our close ties. I am confident that under your able leadership we will be able to further reinforce and enrich our bilateral ties for the mutual benefit of our two peoples." 

"I also take this opportunity to convey to your Excellency my best wishes for your personal well-being and for the continued progress and prosperity of the friendly people of Trinidad and Tobago," the President said.
