Pranab Mukherjee wishes Qatar on eve of accession anniversary of Emir

New Delhi, June 24 (IBNS) President Pranab Mukherjee on Friday extended his greetings and felicitations to the Emir and people of the State of Qatar on the eve of the Anniversary of Accession of Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, The Emir of the State of Qatar.

In a message to Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the President  said, “On behalf of the Government, the people of India and on my own behalf, it gives me great pleasure to extend warm greetings and felicitations to Your Highness and to the Government and people of the State of Qatar on the occasion of the Anniversary of Your Highness’s Accession."

"Our historical and friendly relations are anchored in millennia-old cultural, religious and economic ties, characterized by extensive people-to-people contacts. I am confident that our multifaceted engagement in different fields would further deepen and strengthen our ongoing cooperation for the mutual benefit of our two peoples," he said.

"I take this opportunity to convey to Your Highness my best wishes for your good health and well-being and for the progress and prosperity of the friendly people of the State of Qatar,” Mukherjee said.
