Pranab Mukherjee greets Kenya on I-Day eve
In a message to Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta, the President of the Republic of Kenya, Mukherjee said, “On behalf of the Government, the people of India and on my own behalf, it gives me immense pleasure to extend warm greetings and felicitations to Your Excellency, to the Government and the people of the Republic of Kenya on the occasion of the 53rd anniversary of your Independence Day (Jamhuri Day)."
"The enduring friendly ties between our two countries have now evolved into a robust and multi-faceted partnership, marked by regular high-level visits, increasing trade and investment as well as extensive people- to-people contacts," Mukherjee said.
"Our countries share common views on issues of regional and global interest and cooperate closely in regional and multi-lateral fora. I am confident that this comprehensive partnership between India and Kenya will continue to expand and that our cooperation will scale new heights," he said.
Mukherjee said: "Excellency, I extend my best wishes for your good health, success and happiness, as well as for the continued progress and prosperity of the friendly people of the Republic of Kenya."
