Power tussle in Mulayam family: Former Bihar CM Rabri Devi shocked over sudden turn of events

Patna, Oct 23 (TheBiharPost/IBNS): Rabri Devi, wife of RJD president Lalu Prasad, is shocked over sudden turn of events in Samajwadi Party (SP) which rules India’s most populous state of Uttar Pradesh.

SP is headed by Mulayam Singh Yadav who happens to the ‘samadhin’ (daughter’s father-in-law) of Rabri Devi. Rabri’s youngest daughter Raj Laxmi is married to Mulayam’s grand nephew Tej Pratap Yadav.

“This is primarily an internal matter of ‘Netaji’ (as Mulayam is known among his men). We have nothing to say over this but everyone in Netaji family is dear to us since all are part of our family,” Rabri told the media.

Expressing shock over the sudden turn of events, she suggested the Mulayam family to stay united saying it was the election time.

Rabri’s husband Prasad has already announced his support for the SP in UP and also declared to campaign for the ruling party.

The SP suddenly plunged into crisis today when the UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav dismissed four ministers, including uncle Shivpal Singh Yadav, from his Cabinet as party general secretary Ram Gopal shot off a letter to his colleagues saying the future of the party lay with incumbent chief minister.

The SP leadership soon followed it up by expelling Ram Gopal from the party got six years.
