Bhopal, June 4 (UNI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath averred on Tuesday that outages will not be tolerated as the state possesses surplus power and his government would not turn a blind eye if system errors were causing power cuts.

“There should be no undeclared interruption of utilities and trained teams must repair technical faults forthwith. Qualitative improvement ought to be visible vis-a-vis electric supply during June. The energy department will have to effect radical changes in overall functioning and arrangements. There should be no compromise with quality in purchase of equipment,” he told energy department functionaries.

Issuing instructions for distribution, improvement and better training, the Chief Minister said that officials must visit states where supply management is being done in a better manner.

“In order to scotch technical defects, work ought to be accomplished in a planned fashion and improvements made within a fixed time frame. Regular upkeep of wires and connections in consumers’ dwellings should be ensured. Furnish prior information of maintenance blackouts and set the duration as per commoners’ convenience,” he added.
