Deoria/UNI: The Congress on Saturday said at such a critical time when the entire country is going through a turmoil due to ongoing nationwide lockdown, the poor need money in their accounts to survive not a letter which has been given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi whose government completed a year since returning to power in 2019.

The grand-old-party's national spokesperson Akhilesh Pratap Singh, in a video, said, "Honourable PM Modi, merely writing a letter to the people of the country would not be beneficial. Letter does not fill stomachs. Rs 10,000 should be sent to the accounts of the poor people."

Singh said that today, the whole country is worried due to the coronavirus epidemic. Crores of people have lost their jobs while lakhs have been infected. Industries and businesses are getting closed.

He averred that the Prime Minister is busy in lauding his government by giving the people a letter on the completion of one year of Modi government.
