Police seize 59 cattle heads in Assam’s Biswanath

Guwahati: Police have seized 59 cattle heads and detained two persons in Assam’s Biswanath district on Friday.

The seized heads were loaded in two containers which were coming from Lakhimpur district.

Acting on a tip-off, police of Biswanath district had set up naka checking at Biswanath town and intercepted two containers and during search the police team recovered 59 cattle heads.

“We had set up a naka checking and stopped the vehicles bearing registration number HR-38R-7855 and HR-38Q-9812 and during checking we had found a total of 59 cattle heads. We had detained two persons” a police official said.

The nabbed persons were identified as Ashraful Islam and Vikash Kumar.
