Police lathicharge SUICI men in Kolkata
Kolkata, Feb 5 (IBNS) Police on Thursday lathicharged Socialist Unity Centre of India (SUCI) workers in Central Kolkata during a law violation programme.
The SUCI claimed that several workers of the party were injured in the 'unprovoked' lathicharge which policed denied.
The SUCI workers were conducting a rally in protest against the 'anti people policy' of state government and the centre.
The protests turned violent after workers of the left party clashed with police and the lawkeepers used batons to control the crowd.
The agitators were demanding employment for all and a reduction in the price hike.
They also protested the Mamata Banerjee led government for not solving public problems. They also criticized the Narendra Modi government at the centre for neglecting West Bengal.
