PM's office asked to give details about Modi's education

New Delhi, Apr 29 (IBNS): After Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's demand, the Prime Minister's Office has been asked to come clear on Narendra Modi's education details.

The matter has become a formal RTI query.

The Central Information Commission (CIC) has asked the PM's Office to give a response on the same.

The PM's office has been asked for details like his roll number so that the Delhi University and Gujarat University reveal information about his degree.

Welcoming CIC's decision, Kejriwal tweeted: "We welcome CIC decision. All speculations wud be put to rest now."

Kejriwal, who on Thursday had written to the Central Information Commission (CIC) demanding Prime Minister Narendra Modi's educational qualification be made public, received support from his party as it said that the degree hardly matters but honesty does.

"A degree is certainly not the biggest criteria to be PM, but honesty and integrity are," the Aam Aadmi Party tweeted on Friday.

Floating tweets with the hashtag #DegreeDikhaoModiJi, it said, "The nation actually wants to know. We would rather seek your education than chest measurement."

Questioning the Prime Minister's integrity, it said, "The represented must know how educated their representative is, why does Modi Ji hide truth?"

While contesting the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, PM Modi had declared that he has a BA degree from the Delhi University and a Master's from the Gujarat University.
