PM Narendra Modi's decisions have ruined the nation's economy: Owaisi

Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Apr 19 (UNI) Taking potshots at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over demonetisation, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has alleged that his decisions have ruined the nation's economy.

Addressing a rally at Kiradpura locality on Thursday night, he said that the demonetisation had pushed small traders and businessman into distress.

“Unemployed has shot up during Mr Modi's tenure while the income of farmers and small traders has declined,” Owaisi alleged.

Attacking the PM over ''unfulfilled promises,'' he accused the BJP of making false and lucrative promises to come to power in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections with a huge majority.

Instead of tackling unemployment and farmers' distress, the BJP was out to derive political mileage over Pulwama terror attack and national security, he said and urged the people not to elect BJP candidates and teach the party a lesson.

''Now every section of society, including small businessmen, farmers and labourers want change in the country. The majority of people will overwhelming vote against BJP in this election”, Mr Owaisi said.

Owaisi was in the city for campaigning of his party candidate Imitaz Jaleel. He also criticised Congress nominee Subhash Zambad, Shiv Sena candidate Chandrakant and said voters of Aurangabad look forward towards the AIMIM and the Vanchit Bahujan Agadhi (VBA) for the development of district.

“We are working with VBA under the leadership of Prakash Ambedkar to uplift Muslims, Dalits and OBCs”, he said.

Owaisi also accused the BJP of attempting aggressive polarisation by fielding Sadhvi Pragya, an accused in the 2006 Malegaon blasts case, against Congress's Digvijaya Singh in Bhopal.
