PM Narendra Modi to address farmers today

New Delhi: India PM Narendra Modi will address farmers virtually on Friday and release the next instalment of financial benefit under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN).

He will address the farmers at a time when large number of them camping in Delhi-Haryana border for several straight days with the sole demand of the repeal of the laws enacted by the central government through an Ordinance amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Modi is scheduled to address the farmers of the nation at 12 noon via video conferencing.

"With the push of a button, the Prime Minister will enable the transfer of more than Rs. 18,000 crores to more than 9 crores beneficiary farmer families," read a government statement.

Prime Minister will also have a conversation with farmers from six different States during the event.

The farmers will share their experiences with PM-KISAN and also on various other initiatives taken by the Government for the welfare of farmers.
