PM Narendra Modi meets Swiss President Alain Berset ahead of WEF

Davos, Jan 23 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday held bilateral meeting with Swiss President Alain Berset after reaching the country to attend the World Economic Forum in Davos.

MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said both the leaders engaged themselves in a productive discussions during their meet.

He said both the leaders discussed ways to further deepen our bilateral cooperation between India and Switzerland.

"First engagement in snowing #Davos, PM @narendramodi met with Swiss President @alain_berset. Two leaders had productive discussions on steps to further deepen our bilateral cooperation built upon our shared values of democracy and diversity. #IndiaMeansBusiness," Kumar tweeted.

He also shared an image on Twitter, where Modi and Alain Berset could be seen shaking hands.

Modi is the first Indian PM to attend the World Economic Forum in Davos in 20 years.

PM would make a keynote speech at the Plenary of the Forum.

He has already hosted a roundtable meeting with top CEOs of the world.
