PM Modi's special package for Bihar an attempt to tell a fairy tale : Nitish Kumar

Patina, Aug 26 (IBNS) A week after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a 1.25 lakh crore package for Bihar, the state's Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has scorned it saying the offer "is an audacious and brazen effort to narrate a fairy tale" to the people.

"The much hyped package is nothing but an audacious and brazen effort to narrate a fairy tale to the people of Bihar," he tweeted on Wednesday.

"I’ll be taking questions for the next 48 hours debunking the so-called “special” Bihar package," Nitish Kumar, the main foe of Narendra Modi's BJP in the upcoming state election, said.
The massive package would not translate to anything more than around Rs. 10,000 crores extra, he said.

"..this special package for Bihar announced just before the elections, is nothing but well-conceived packaged myth devised to influence people, manufacture euphoria and create noise without any substance," the Chief Minister said.

He alleged that PM Modi was trying to deceive the people of Bihar as the so called special package was  "nothing but a mere repackaging of old schemes, appropriation of pre-approved allocations for the old ones and continued contributions to ongoing schemes."

He said projects worth nearly one lakh crore were a repackaging and appropriation of old schemes and for some new items worth Rs. 6000 crore in the package, there was "not even a shred of evidence" of planning or work on the ground. Besides, there is no time frame, Nitish Kumar added.

The chief minister is leading a coalition that takes on the BJP in the upcoming Bihar election and has engaged in a bitter battle of words with PM Modi.
