New Delhi, Jun 23 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday paid tributes to party founder Shyama Prasad Mukherjee on the latter's death anniversary.

"Remembering Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee & his rich contribution to India's history on his Punya Tithi,"

Mukherjee served as a minister in Jawaharlal Nehru's cabinet, but later went on to form the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
