PM Modi pays tribute to JP Narayan on his 113th birth anniversary

New Delhi, Oct 11 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday paid his tributes to Loknayak Jayprakash Narayan on his 113th birth anniversary.
"We should not cry while remembering Emergency. Let's talk about how the anti-Emergency movement strengthened democracy," the Prime Minister said on the occasion. 
 
He said that it is necessary to learn from Emergency and strengthen our democracy.
 
Modi on Sunday also made a courtesy call on former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on the occasion of  the birth anniversary of Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan.
 
"On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan, the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today made a courtesy call on former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee," a government statement said. 
 
"The Prime Minister also made a courtesy call on former Union Minister Shri George Fernandes," it said.
