PM Modi condoles loss of lives in Russia metro station explosion

New Delhi, Apr 3 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday expressed distress after at least 10 people died in an explosion which rocked inside a metro train at the Sennaya Square station in Russia's St. Petersburg.

PM Modi tweeted: "Deeply saddened by the loss of lives in the blasts at St. Petersburg metro. Heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims."

According to preliminary reports, ten people were killed by an explosion inside a metro train at the Sennaya Square station in St. Petersburg, emergency services told TASS.

Rescue operation is currently going on.

Following the blast, seven metro stations in the city have been closed.
