Pinarayi Vijayan's LDF Government in Kerala to take oath on May 25

| | May 21, 2016, at 07:24 pm
Thiruvanthapuram, May 21 (IBNS) The Pinarayi Vijayan-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) ministry in Kerala will be sworn in on 25 May, reports said.

“We have planned to hold the function on 25 May in the evening at the central stadium here,” reports quoted Vijayan as telling reporters.

Before that Vijayan, a CPI(M) Polit Bureau member, held talks with  V.S. Achuthanandan, the senior most party leader and his adversary in ideological battle within the organisation.

“Achuthanandan is the last party leader who held the post of chief minister and has the experience. So it is important to understand various matters from him," Vijayan explained.

He said the  LDF is slated to  meet on Sunday over the formation of government.

The LDF regained power after five years by winning  90  of the state Assembly's 140 seats. The Congress-led UDF bagged only 47 seats.
