New Delhi, May 4 (IBNS) Ahead of Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar's address to Parliament on the Agusta scam, the Rajay Sabha on Wednesday took up a discussion on the issue as both the Congress and the BJP are set for a showdown.

Amid a political battle,  Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar will make a statement on the AugustaWestland VVIP chopper scam, which has already rocked Parliament this week with the ruling BJP targeting the Congress and its president Sonia Gandhi over the issue.

The Centre on Saturday clarified that Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not  strike  a deal with Italy on the multi-million dollar AgustaWestland chopper deal.

Ahead of the proceedings in Parliament, Congress president Sonia Gandhi chaired a meeting of party MPs while Prime Minister Narendra Modi also met senior ministers on Wednesday.
