Panic in Los Angeles airport over unconfirmed active shooter

Los Angeles, Aug 29 (IBNS): Reports of shots fired inside the Los Angeles Airport (LAX) were shared by social media users, triggering panic at the facility even as the police said the reports were unconfirmed and they are investigating it.

"Police searching LAX after reports. All precautions being taken to ensure safety of public. Remain calm. Thank you for your cooperation," tweeted the airport authorities.

"Reports of active shooter at LAX unconfirmed. Police investigating," the post by LA Airport PD said.

Some posts by netizens described that terminal eight was most likely the area where the shooting took place.

Cody Wendt, a passenger, tweeted, "Passengers evacuated onto the ramp at LAX."
