Palghar lady booked for bid to set companion to flames

Palghar, Mar 13 (UNI): A woman from Vasai city of this district,allegedly tried to set her 29-year-old friend on blaze after both had a quarrel,stated the Palghar Police Public Relations Officer(PRO) on Wednesday. 

The victim,who is a mason,has sustained serious burns and he is presently kept under medical supervision at a Kandivli-based hospital,said PRO.


The PRO further said the accused lady Shital Dalvi and the victim were drinking alcohol on March 11 at Dalvi's residence,when both had a quarrel.


In a fit of rage,the accused poured kerosene on the victim and set him ablaze,the lady harbored grudge against him as they even had a verbal spat in the recent past,added PRO.

The accused lady has been booked under the IPC sections pertaining to murder attempt,criminal intimidation and other relevant charges,informed PRO.


No arrest have been made so far and further investigation is underway into the case,mentioned PRO.
