Pakistan will dedicate its I-Day celebration to Kashmir's freedom: Abdul Basit

New Delhi, Aug 14 (IBNS): In the latest provocation to India, Pakistan High Commissioner to Delhi Abdul Basit on Sunday said that his country will dedicate its Independence Day celebration to 'Kashmir's freedom'.

While hoisting flag to mark the occasion of Pakistan's Independence Day, Basit said: "This year's independence day celebrations are dedicated to Kashmir's (future) independence."

"We will fight for the people of Kashmir," he said.

The Pakistan envoy said, "The sacrifices of the those people won't go in vain."

Pakistan celebrate its Independence on August 14.

Responding to Pakistan's invitation for talks on the ongoing Kashmir issue, India on Saturday said it will only discuss contemporary and relevant issues with the neighbouring nation.

"India would welcome a dialogue on contemporary and relevant issues in India-Pakistan relations," MEA spokesperson Vikas Swarup had said in a statement.

"At this time, they include a stoppage of Pakistani support for cross-border terrorism, infiltration of terrorists like Bahadur Ali, incitement to violence and terrorism across the border, parading of internationally recognized terrorists like Hafiz Saeed and Syed Salahuddin, and sincere follow up on the Mumbai attack trial and the Pathankot attack investigation in Pakistan," read the statement further.

Pakistan's  Adviser to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz on Friday invited India for a talk on the ongoing violence in Kashmir.

The  valley is witnessing massive protests after top Hizb militant Burhan Wani was killed in an  encounter with security forces in Kokernag area of South Kashmir on July 8 .

So far 60 civilians have been killed and  6000  injured since Burhan Wani's death.
