Pakistan snubbed at EU Parliament; accused of cradling terrorists

Strasbourg (France): Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's UNGA address in New York later this month, the European Union (EU) parliament supported India's stand on Jammu and Kashmir and called Pakistan an “ambiguous” state.

The Strasbourg-based European Parliament had decided to debate on Kashmir issue for the second time in 11 years, due to the alleged communication blockade after the abrogation of Article 370 on August 5, last.

Majority of the EU members spoke in support of India and called Pakistan an “ambiguous” state. Earlier, France, Germany and Poland had come out in favour of India after Pakistan tried to build a narrative against in India in the UN Security Council.

Forwarding unconditional support to India’s stance on Article 370, the EU Parliament said it is a bilateral matter, and hence rejected Pakistan’s demand for international intervention.

This is seen as yet another major diplomatic win for New Delhi, in the midst of on-going propaganda by Pakistan against India across international forums, accusing India of subjugating human rights in the newly-formed union territory.

Leader of European Conservatives Reformists Group, Poland, Ryszard Czarnecki extended his support to India and added that “terrorists come from Pakistan”.

“India is the greatest democracy in the world. We need to look at terrorist acts that took place in India, and Jammu and Kashmir. These terrorists didn’t land from the moon. They were coming from the neighbouring country. We should support India,” Czarnecki said.

Slamming Pakistan, head of the Group of European People’s Party (Christian Democrats), Italy, said, “Pakistan has threatened to use nuclear arms. Pakistan is somewhere where terrorists have been able to plan bloody terrorist attacks in Europe without mentioning tremendous human rights violation in Pakistan.”

“Pakistan is somewhere where terrorists have been able to plan bloody terrorist attacks in Europe,” he stated and accused Pakistan of grave human rights violations on its soil.
