Islamabad/UNI: Pakistan's Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Wednesday arrested journalist Mohsin Baig after conducting a raid on his house in Islamabad.

The FIA's Cyber Crime Wing (CCW) raided the journalist's house along with the police and took him into custody, according to The News International.

Baig, who used to appear in TV talk shows as an analyst, had been critical of the government's policies.

Mohsin Baiq is blamed for initiating a debate on a television show with obscene references towards Prime Minister Imran Khan and a minister, according to ARY News.

Geo News quoted Baig's son as saying that the FIA officials in plainclothes came to the house and arrested his father.

The FIA "faced resistance" during the raid and "dragged" the journalist to the van, The News International reported.

Mohsin Baig's son was injured during the raid, the media reported, adding that the police wanted to arrest the journalist for resisting against FIA.

This is the second arrest made by the law enforcement agencies during the past week over anti-government commentary, The News International reported.

The FIA on Monday arrested a social media activist for "running trends against the prime minister" on social media.
