Jammu, Jan 13 (IBNS): Pakistan rangers resorted to unprovoked firing at Border Security Force (BSF) posts on the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday night, media reports said.

The shelling started at 8 pm. Pakistan rangers used mortars and automatic weapons targeting three BSFG border outposts in Samba district of the Jammu region.

BSF personnel also retaliated effectively.

Sources said that firing exchanges continued till 11.35 pm. No casualty or damage was reported on Indian side.

Over 10,000 residents of border villages in Samba and Kathua districts were lodged in temporary camps following indiscriminate shelling by Pakistan rangers earlier this month, reports said.
