Pak flag row: Mufti says law will take its own course
Srinagar, Apr 16 (IBNS): Amid raging controversy over the raising of Pakistani flags during a rally of Hurriyat Conference here, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed on Thursday said the law will take its own course in this regard.
“According to me law will take its own course. If someone has committed mistake, the law meant for that will do its work,” he told reporters on the sidelines of a function in south Kashmir’s Anantnag.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh reacted asking Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to take "stringent" action at the earliest.
"I have spoke to the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and asked him to take strict action in the matter," Singh said.
On Wednesday, over a dozen flags of Pakistan were seen in the rally organized by Hurriyat for welcoming Syed Ali Shah Geelani from New Delhi.
On the occasion, senior Hurriyat leader and chairman of Muslim League shouted pro-Pakistan slogans angering Indian media and pro-India political parties, said reports.
Police have already registered a case against Geelani, Masarat Aalam and others under Unlawful Activities Act.
