New Delhi, Jan 7 (IBNS): Congress leader P Chidambaram on Sunday attacked and criticised the Centre over failing to restore peace in Jammu and Kashmir.

Chidambaram said the Centre's ' hard, muscular, militaristic approach' have not yielded much result in solving the trouble.

He said: " It was claimed that the hard, muscular, militaristic approach will put an end to infiltration and militancy. Has it?."

Commenting on the appointment of Dineshwar Sharma as the interlocutor for Kashmir, the former Union Finance Minister tweeted: "Still, all is not lost. I support the idea of interlocutors, but that step has to be part of a set of measures."

Another Congress leader Kapil Sibal slammed the Centre over the repeated loss of lives of jawans in militant attack in Kashmir.

He tweeted: "Modi's rhetoric has come apart . Soldiers and policemen martyred almost daily . Will Government explain ? When will we stop losing lives ?."
