Our stand on Article 370 is unchanged :RSS
"RSS's stand on Article 370 has not changed, we will never compromise on it," RSS leader Dattatreya Hosabale said.
"We will wait for the situation to improve. If it doesn't improve then things will be decided," he told reporters before a three-day conclave of top RSS leaders.
RSS has been demanding for long abrogation of Article 370 of the constitution that grants special autonomous status to Jammu and Kashmir. The organisation's political wing-the BJP is in alliance with the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Jammu and Kashmir to share power on the basis of a common minimum programme agreeing to maintain the present constitutional status.
Hosabale said despite recent incidents like the release of separatist Masarat Alam, it can not be said that the present J & K government has failed and the BJP-PDP alliance should be allowed to continue. "The country is angry. We don't think what is happening in Jammu and Kashmir is right, but we should not conclude that the government has failed... "We are seeing teething problems from day one but the attempt is to bring in change, a chance must be given."
The conclave, to be attended by BJP President Amit Shah, among others, will also witness the election of a general secretary.
