OROP : War veterans to return medals today

| | Nov 10, 2015, at 06:08 pm
New Delhi, Nov 10 (IBNS) Agitating ex-servicemen will return their medals on Tuesday as the standoff over "One Rank One Pension" continues.

Reports said the veterans have rejected the OROP scheme and have written to District Commissioners to collect their medals.

The government had on Saturday formally notified the OROP scheme for more than 24 lakh ex-servicemen and 6 lakh war widows in the country. But the veterans rejected it.

Parrikar had said earlier in the day that everyone has the right to make a demand in democracy but not all demands can be fulfilled.
